Any idea how to ease the number plate off and clean off the residue without damaging the bumper? would Boiling water and WD40 work? 2.2 Tdci 110 XS CSW Corris Grey Prince Harry's D3 (gone but not forgotten) 300 Tdi 110 CSW (gone but not forgotten) |

Try heating it or using a bit of fishing line to pull along and cut the foam tape.
From there you can use various cleaners including Stick Stuff Remover, WD40 Wurth industrial cleaner etc to clean off the glue 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon 1971 Bowler Tomcat 88 4.2 V8 Auto 2022 110 D250 XS Edition - Gone 2024 110 D250 X-Dynamic HSE |

Thanks. I'm not planning too much ( that's in case swmbo is reading !) first thing is dinitrol and sound proofing courtesy of CSK. I'm also thinking of a store drawer in the boot as I've removed the rear seats. I'm in two minds over a safari snorkel and wading kit and led headlights as I like how it looks at the moment. The headlights are better than I remember anyway 2.2 Tdci 110 XS CSW Corris Grey

Hi Folks, just a quick update. The Defender is now back from Chris at CSK having had Dinitrol and sound proofing - Chris did a great job and I'm very pleased with the results. I have spent the last half an hour or so removing the number plate and repositioning as suggested above. 2.2 Tdci 110 XS CSW Corris Grey Prince Harry's D3 (gone but not forgotten) 300 Tdi 110 CSW (gone but not forgotten) Last edited by captain slow on 19th Jan 2015 1:34pm. definitely the latter- that bumper deserves to be seen in full.
My only concern would be over the legality of it - I thought they had to be vertical mounted? Albeit, the get out is "or as close to vertical as is reasonably practical." in the MOT Inspection Manual. |

Yes, I was concerned about that too. But it's how Bowler and LR fit the number plate to Bowler Defenders

I also prefer the latter... But again legality is in question
I have seen a few bowler editions with the plate in the same place though... So it might be okay? |

Thanks - I'm afraid not. never been on that forum.
The only thing I can find is a requirement for the number plate to visible at 18-22m - which I will have to check tomorrow, but I think it's ok. Please correct me if I'm wrong 2.2 Tdci 110 XS CSW Corris Grey Prince Harry's D3 (gone but not forgotten) 300 Tdi 110 CSW (gone but not forgotten) |
