I have fiddled around with photo bucket and made my avatar smaller is it OK now ? (still looks the same to me)
Do I need to change the rest of my pictures as well?
I am not a computer expert nor do I do much posting on forums so I apologize for this and all future cockups

Cheers Rob

Pixel size is now much smaller, so them's with the older pooters should be ok ;p.

Split this thread out of the original to keep everyone happy Wink

There's two combining causes of this problem.

Firstly, it is possible to link to an avatar image which is outside the site's permitted size. As the image is linked, the site cannot determine its size and so just accepts that people read/understand/comply Wink

The other issue is that the viewing browser is out of date Shocked

This is because to work around the first issue, when avatars are displayed by the site I have added a code to set the width the image will be displayed at to the forum's maximum. However on some older browsers this isn't supported Sad

Hosting the photo in the gallery here sorts all this, as after uploading via the new upload buttons or directly in the gallery, you can then click the "Set this as my avatar" button under the photo when viewing it in the gallery - correct resized avatar all done for you Smile  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

And blimey! Someone still on XP :p ... you do know it's now completely unsuported by Microsoft lol!

May be time for an update Wink

Tell me about it, that’s a university computer that we have to use at work, cant upgrade any of our computers or operating systems until the new budget comes into force in April, government cutbacks are slowly killing further education, most of us poor lecturers end up using our own laptops.

Brilliant Thumbs Up

The times I've tried to add an Avatar but It's binned as 'too big' - Even when resized to 150x100

Good addition Martin Cool Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.
