my dad's a great believer in checking the baramoter for predicting the weather.
I presume having an ultragauge or similar which displays the MAP pressure you can do the same? If I remember right mine was showing 14.65psi over the weekend? 
just what you need when out on an adventure......a vehicle that can forecast any pending storms  |

Just hang some friggin' seaweed off your aerial. You'll be wanting it to predict your stars next. Whatever next??????

if only I was by the sea I could go grab me some but alas I'll have to make do with the MAP sensor and fir cone
.....surprised LR don't advertise it as a selling point? |

My Defender predicted that a fellow forum member was going to post something totally 'outlandish' today and that it would border on the utterly ridiculous........
I'll send you some seaweed you could always ACF/Dinitrol it before hanging but it may affect it's predictability. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

obviously not wishing you to reveal any names but I know what you mean - there are some right puppets on here that come out with some ridiculous stuff.
anyway I'm not worried about the side effects of the seaweed - all that polish and dinitrol ........
just been out to check and we're down to 14.50 psi and weather has turned down hill so would appear the MAP weather control module is working fine. would it be possible to use a step up transformer to give an inflated reading which would in turn improve the weather? |

Give it a good blow......alternatively as your exhaust is so clean you could try sucking...wait until the sun disappears behind a cloud and continue sucking or blowing to see if it reappears....

Sunny with high ambient pressure .....if you had anything to do with that I thank you kindly.
According to the forecast it's going to be in the mid twenties tomorrow/Wednesday try not to give yourself an embolism/hernia with all that sucking/blowing.  If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Just been out with my Victorian barometer to see where I can put it in the Truck. I can manage to do all the pipe work to connect to the MAF etc. but am having trouble to find a place to hang it and keep it perminatley vertical when off road. Any of you clever people found a solution yet?.
PS Sea weed no problem- found some in the bottom of the tool box but covered in grease. Will it still work? |

gilarion - no need to fix one of them if its only to see if its raining or not. you can stick your hand out of the window and if it looks like your hand has a fever and is sweating profusely then its raining.
Victorian barometer can double up as a tyre gauge however you will of course require an isolation valve and pressure reducing valve. I would suggest great care should be taken while rigging this up to your tyres and MAP sensor as any inadvertent back pressure from the tyres to MAP sensor could cause a very serious heat wave leading to drought and hose pipe ban which I wouldn't thank you for as I'm trying to get my lawns looking ship shape. I look forward to seeing the finished article. |

I am reliably informed by Billy ‘slip’ Wrench of the Quantum Mechanics garage on the high street that barometers with a little modification can not only predict weather patterns, but can be used as reliable exhaust gas analysers, boost pressure gauges, advanced diagnostic machines, Sat Navs, depth gauges if you source the correct sender and if you screw in the correct size wheel nut socket at the back of the barometer a very good torque wrench and as you say a tyre pressure gauge. |

Now here's an idea....Affix an obelisk clearly visible from the driver's seat on the bonnet perhaps?
