Exhaust gasket?
Should there be a gasket between the turbo and the down pipe?

None on mine, which I can't see be correct, as there is no other way for it to seal.

Any ideas chaps

Andy

Thank you for the quick reply.

Have just spoken to parts man at local dealer, and you are correct no gasket. But it looks like mine has been blowing!

But that's nothing compared to the other turbo gasket, that's really poorly.

When I changed the turbo gasket - and had both turbo and manifold machined due to deformation - i used some exhaust sealant between the turbo and down pipe - still not leaking…

Thanks CRJ, checked the mating face on the exhaust manifold and that was slightly deformed. But an hour laying on top of the engine and an oil stone got it flat Rolling Eyes

Now all back together, apart from lower cat bracket, and heat shield, then take for a test drive. Fingers crossed.
