Mine has that as well, it's a 2002 110 built as a poverty spec but has abs and tc. I put it down to sound proofing so pedestrians can't hear you coming! Never mind the gap you can put your hands through where the bonnet meets the wingtops.

Thanks both - I wonder what those bag things are for then ? I must admit to having half a mind to taking the underbody plastics and those pads out ... Other than trap junk I'm not sure I can see a purpose ?
My bonnet gap was such that my family kept telling me I'd left it open - and the engine was filthy, I imagine spray off the road hardly bothering the windscreen as it all went into the engine bay. I've adjusted it now though to the smallest gap possible . Much better |

The underbody "protection" has departed from my motor, in some ways it had a purpose, it did cut down a lot of the splash from puddles on the road getting on the alternator belt which cause a bit of slippage. On the other hand it makes servicing much easier, I do feel that excess heat does get away underneath a little easier when on the road plus it's easier to keep an eye out for leaks.

Sorry to resurrect like this but does anyone have a photo or part number for this thing please? I'm trying to work out just how broken my own one is or whether I should just ditch it altogether!

Thank you very much!
Although at pushing £100 for some foam in a plastic bag I think I might just get rid of the remnants of it altogether! |

It does make things quieter... you could replace it with some closed cell foam just glue it to the back. Food for thought. 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)
