Front Runner access ladder. Always cringe a little when I have to break out the drill and punch a few holes in the new car

Don't they do a rack to chassis ladder similar to the Patriot one? It would save on that drilling and also with the more rungs actually makes access easier.

they are illegal here in oz as they cover part of the number plate. I think the full gutter to chassis ladders look better and serve the purpose better just didn't want the drama.

I have to say that I'm jealous of your black number plate, it's so low-key compared to the massive reflective things that we're obliged to wear.

I've got an ancient bike, and they allow that to have black plates with silver letters. I'd love that plate on my 110.

Nice rig mate, its fair dinkum got everything.

Love the e-brake kit especially.

Now all you need for cruising up the Gold Coast is one of those AHMs (Automatic Horny Maker) and you'll be waxed !!

What about fitting a full length ladder on the right-hand side? That's got to be better than that - how do you get onto the lower rung without a separate set of steps; and that's a lot of weight to be swinging off a couple of bolts through the roof.

first up the same weight would be "...swinging off a couple of bolts through the roof..." regardless of wether its full length or not.

If it was put on the drivers side then it would be in the way of the spare tyre when the rear door opens. I've been up and down it more times then I care to think about since fitting, there is no movement in it and no signs of it ever having moved, it feels very solid. Anyway holes are there now so its not getting moved or replaced anytime soon.

As far as getting up to the ladder goes, you just have to open the rear door, then use the factory fold down step and the rear door opening. Its not that hard...

Fair play on the two bolts through the roof panel showing no signs of movement - is there a load spreading plate on the inside?

no bolts go through the roof panel its a clamp on the gutter, same style as the roof rack, the only bolts are at the base through the top of the tub where the material is around 3-4mm thick

BEE770, I am drawing a lot of inspiration from your posts! I have recently bought a carbon copy of your car, so I am loving all the additions you have made. Nice kit.

Time for celebration. The defender is now a fully fledged landrover. With 12000 kms on the clock it's now developed it's first oil leak. Front swivel hubs, earned it's stripes I guess you could say.

Also bought a cargo barrier for this aaaaages ago, bout 6 months in fact, anyway finally got around to fitting it up couple of days ago. It's an auto-safe unit and seemed to fit pretty good with only minor modifications to the bracketry to make it spot on.

Bit if a crummy pic

And a pic of the big girl hooked up to the camper because I like pics, and the camper has Land Rover mudflaps Cool so it's kind of relevant

Also just ordered a centre silencer replacement section from Britpart, wanted a Terrafirma unit but they are apparently out of stock at the moment with no date for when they would have fresh stock. And also Terrafirma rear corner chequer plate pieces in black to cover up this damage from the mudflap brackets when I bottomed it out in a washout

and lastly a couple of poser pics because i'm a pic whore
