It is was it is the freelander replacement. Looks great and hope it is bullet proof and sells loads world wide.
Lots seem to be knocking LandRover but if they sell a hundred thousand of these a year we will all be closer to recovery. I hope they sell loads because that's a lot of jobs. Would I buy one would I heck, I'd ruin it within a week and it won't tow my trailers. Look on the LandRover website and the stats are all very good and best of all it's made in Britain. |

I like that.
But to be honest, looks like all the Japanese-Korean-American SUVs available in the market. I cant see any soul on it. Is not a new proposal in style (like the Discovery or the Range at this time). Probably will be entering to compete hand by hand in the Japanese/Korean/American SUV market so I hope that the reliability and capabilities will be outstanding. For sure will not be my Defender replacement. Just my thought Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

LR produce another vehicle that's safe, roomy water tight and reliable.
This car is not aimed at people that drive Defenders. As some have said it looks like the current Jap/American suv vehicles, well its that market that LR are after. On launch I bet the showrooms will be full of people that have never stepped foot in a LR Showroom in their lives and it will sell like hot cakes. LR are clearly lining/tidying up their range of vehicles and the Freelander is the odd one out so why not call it a Discovery ?????? not sure on the word sport though . Range Rover 3 versions = FFRR, RRS and Evoque all with different spec options. Discovery 3 versions = Discovery, Discovery Commercial and Discovery Sport all with different spec options. Defender (TBC) = short, medium and long wheelbase all with different spec options. |

I like it .. as others have said, it would be water tight, it has more safety features, you can't remove the doors or bonnet easily, emissions will be low etc. just hope they are beginning to think more about ownership costs and maintenance.

Victoria did design the Evoque, then Jez coloured in the pictures and Gerry stood next to it at the press releases. www.td5.org |

Seeing this, glad that my SVX had its 6 year scheduled B maintenance job at the dealer yesterday, and that it has been approved for another innumerable number of years of service.
The entire B service and then some more on my request was all done free of charge by the way. Eric You never actually own a Defender. . . . but it isn't a sport version of the Discovery, so why call it a "Discovery Sport"? More like a "Shrunken Head Discovery". However, it will cross all those 2.5t weight limit bridges without embarasmnet.

Agreed with the naming of the vehicle, the thing is what else would you call it? I bet LR spent ages thinking something up and it would appear they gave up and said it just call it a sport

Problem is they already called the 'Sport' version of the L319 Discovery the L320 Range Rover Sport so they were running out of options 2003 Zambezi Silver TD5 110 XS SW overland prepped.... 2004 Santorini Black TD5 110 XS SW left hooker for sale! 2004 Alpine White TD5 110 left hooker (work in progress) |

Can't see why they don't just call it a Freelander. People know the name and before the Evoque it was LR's top selling model, so the name is what people know.
The Freelander has sold extremely well as a 'family car' so I'm not sure where this new one fits in the market. Sounds very confusing calling it Discoverty Sport as it removes it from the idea of family car. I don't like the 'Sport' name anyway for any of the models as it just sounds 1990s/2000s and rather tacky and a bit 'keeping up with the Kardashians'. They should have been a bit more imaginative with the name, even if it was a Discovery 'something'. Our blog - http://landytravels.com/ Yorkshire Off Road Club - http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net |

^^ That sounds right, this is the new Discovery 'something'... You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

I can see the advert - "Discover something today..." Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
