Just a hundred years ago or so in Britain people used to crap in the streets, send children down the mines, knowingly torture innocent people into confession of some 'sin', beat their wives and children and animals into submission, die of what are now very minor diseases, paint their skins with poisons for vanity and die horrible deaths as a result, loose their teeth at an early age, starve during cold winters and wet summers, homosexuality was a crime punishable by imprisonment, only be educated if their parents could afford it, only have health care if they could afford it, had to go to the workhouse if they were too poor to look after themselves, work until they pretty much dropped dead. etc. etc.
Some small irritations in the modern world hardly compare and surely don't warrant such wailing and gnashing of teeth. We are living probably the easiest ever era. what puddle, not sure what we've lost but I to crack it now and then. There is much in this world to moan about and everyone is entitled to have a shocker now and then I reckon.
But but there is much to be grateful for. And being angry means you cant be happy at the same time. Cup half full and being happy is the only way to go. Go for a walk and enjoy the sun shine. My Defender and travels |
