No idea Steve. But I do know that the light is clear and crisp. Not that yellowy light you get from halogen bulbs.
I wouldn't go back now. But I can't justify LED main lights yet. So this is best compromise 110 D250 SE HT

Er...isn't it completely illegal to use them on the roads over there? Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Legal to fit and use. Loads of people have them fitted. UK rules are a bit less lax than in Germany. But I'm sure Brussels will sort that out for us 110 D250 SE HT

Aren't they governed by the same laws as fog lights? At least when I was an Essex boy racer. Something from the Norfolk Plod:

"Fog lights - For vehicles fitted with front fog lights (rear fog lights are also included), it is an offence to illuminate them unless visibility is seriously reduced, which is defined as driving in rain, snow or fog with visibility less than 100 metres. Fog lights cause dazzle to other drivers and can attract a £30 Fixed Penalty Notice."

If they aren't fogs, then are they driving lights and can only be positioned certain places, I guess not on the roof?

*Edit* Perhaps no positioning regulation in the UK apart from "don't blind people" so can only come on with main beam...

Mind you then, going from "main beam/LED supernova" to "dipped beam candlelight" must be like going blind Confused Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

/\/\/\Think you will find they are legal to fit but illegal to use on a public highway, which is another reason they need a separate switch, remember it's an offence to even use fog lights unless its (very) foggy. Not sure whether a lightbar would fall into the same category as fog/driving lamps, which need to be fitted in accordance with the law. However, daft o'clock at night on an unlit country road, who's gonna know. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

As far as I am aware they come under additional main beam lamps. In which case I think if they can only be on with main beam, are adjustable aim with the vehicle parked, are yellow or white beam and bear an approval mark or BS mark they are fine to use whenever it is acceptable to use dipped beam. No positional requirements exist.

If the lamps can be activated with dipped beam or sidelights then they must follow regs of dipped beam or fog lamps I believe.
