My 90 does that.
Ive replaced the speedo unit in the dash and the speedo cable so it must be the actual drive that the speedo cable goes in to that is knackered. It would seem 'they all do that sir' it must be an added feature, like the free shower with every rainstorm |

Theres the speed sensor on the transfer box if I am not mistaken??

Thanks for the tip!..............finally took a window of opportunity when the clouds parted and had a good nosey at the sensors on the transmission after removing the cubby box and floor. Wiring to sensor which is located on transfer box behind the handbrake drum base was chafed where it had been rubbing on the drum itself......fixed wiring and all well with the speedo again so well happy... I removed the handbrake unit from my mates puma tonight to free up the ajuster & fit a new cable Could clearly see the sensor there Chris 2008 XS 110 2.4 Utility.
