A little fuel will go a long way when it spills on the floor.

Did you fill the tank right up to the filler neck?

Sounds like you might have just lost the contents of the fuel filler pipe.

If so check the hose to tank jubilee clip is done up tight.

Just had the breather on mine replaced under warranty as it was cracked where it connects to the tank, lost a couple of gallons all over the forecourt!!! 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

Mines the same, can't fill it up properly otherwise it has a little wee all over the forecourt, much to my embarrassment! It's on my list of warranty jobs when it goes in for it's first service!

Hi Johnbain,

If on filling, it leaks then stops, it could well be either the main filler pipe or (in my experience) the breather pipe,

My fix is here...

Yes, I have this problem on a 2012 2.2 110.

If I fill it using the automatic cutoff of the bowser it will leak on the forecourt then as I drive along, diesel leaks onto the road and little droplets spray back over the rear door. I think the top 5 litres of the tank leaks.

I have had this repaired once under warranty a year ago and will be getting it done again next month.

To avoid the problem i don't fill the tank to the top. It means I don't get a full range and dirt attaches to the rear chassis because of the wet diesel. It is pretty annoying - if not dangerous.
