I am finally happy with the bracket mods so they fit the "A" frame and clear the winch.

2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Loire Blue

I was wondering about these a while ago and bought some PIAAs instead but what's never been seen is a shot from the driver's seat looking down an ordinary open road, i.e. one not bounded by hedges.

That's the shot I'd take if I was trying to sell them

My PIAAs are off at the moment and you never know.... 2003 Td5 110 Hardtop
Now a 2013 110 USW too.

My opinion is they are bloody good, super bright and very white. A very open road they don't have the distance punch of a cut focused lens they are still very good but if you are wanting to see for miles and miles beaming a light mountain to mountain top these are not for you. As driving lights they are unsurpassable a huge flood of light in front of you very wide angle, no beam as such just a great flood of white light. These pick up reflective signs even in bright daylight, the best thing is the way they pick up even knackered white lines even when its raining and they are covered in water. Makes fast night driving in bad weather easy, love them. (and I have not aimed them properly yet) If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

Presume they will dramatically reduce load on AUX 2 switch compared to halogens ?

Mine are still wired through the Land Rover relay but I have measured the load and its under 10 amps and I have used a smaller fuse in the top of the relay. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

They do consume less power than halogens

still put a fuse in though just in case.

Some idiot turned left in front of me while I was in the left lane, the mondeo got the full force of the spots for 200 yards before he slammed on the brakes and got out while I effortlessly cruised past then he caught me up and put his halogen main beams on which were candles and one was broke! I couldn't help but laugh as he ain't gonna stop my battered 110 in a hurry!
