And1145,
Towed my caravan down to South Wales from Beverley a couple of weeks ago with my 2.2 110. The 2.2 feels like it needs more torque low down in 1st and 2nd. Did the remap increase power low down, mine also suffers from jerkiness at low speed in 1st and 2nd gear, did yours and if so did the remap sort it. We also suffered from a lot of heat from the gearbox making the car very hot, again no aircon I wonder if insulation can be fitted. Regards, Rover |

Driving with the window open will actually cause more heat to come into the cabin. Rather put the fan on and direct it onto your feet/head -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Hahaha, tell that to my wife and 3 kids whilst we crawled along the M5 with sweat dripping off us !!
I see your point but when it's that hot and can't breath the windows come down ! My heater control needs some adjustment I think as it only gives cool air at about 5% at the top of the dial. Yes more low down torque with less gear changes needed. |

It was like a kangaroo in 2nd and 3rd before the remap.
As said, flat spots are a thing of the past, totally smooth response now. |

Hi,
I have the BAS remap on my 2.2 and I tow a double axle van. The jerkiness in 1st & 2nd is still there when not towing. With the caravan on the back it smooths it out a lot. Has enough power now to tow without the worry of holding traffic up. Very pleased. My only concern is that the exhaust tip is white and very clean when we arrive at our destination. I would love to be able to read the exhaust gas temp, not sure if i'm worrying to much but it looks like it's running on the lean side.??? |

Do you have the uprated intercooler ? I think this is supposed to lower the combustion temp or at least help ???

Recent experience has taught me to watch the EGT after a remap. With the increased power and shut off EGR, things are bound to get toasty. I have a BAS remap, BAS hybrid turbo and Allisport intercooler and it's certainly possible to cook the turbo, not to mention the pistons etc. if you're not careful.
If you're considering fitting an EGT gauge, research taught me the maximum sustained turbo input temperature should not exceed 850 degrees C and output temperature 700 degrees C. On the standard map I can't get much above 500 degrees TOT - with the remap, 700 degrees TOT is easily achievable... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
