Humm does sound like there are alot of wires to hide.
Does anyone know how much room there is under the tray in the dashboard? it feels very hollow might be a place to hide it? |

Plenty of room each side of the HU at the back.
I suggested the Parrot because I think it suits your requirements best and is more of a simple set up. If you don't go for the Parrot you'll need a BT HU and that might mean an external BT unit or if it's in built updates etc to keep it current. |

Good point forgot about that
![]() I like the look of the parrot system I think a good external mic is a good idea especially if it plays through the existing speakers. I don't want to change the existing head unit as it works for me and i got it for such a good price. I think I will go for the Parrot System and see how I get on. Thank you for the advice and comments everyone been very helpful as always ![]() ![]() |

I had a parrot ck3100 which I removed, and might have somewhere out in the workshop. I can check tomorrow. It will fit, but I found people struggled to hear me due to the landrover soundtrack. Hence the removal !!!! I just ignoor it now if it rings and call back later, or pull over if its that important. Mind you I have not seen any hands free texting/email kits yet

All I do with mine is add a jack lead(double ended 3.5mm plug lead) from the phone earphone socket to an external input socket on the radio. When the phone rings switch the radio to auxilary input and press the phone button(could be voice activated) If I use my phone as an mp3 player it automatically overides the music player anyway. With the phone in a screen mounted phone holder the phone microphone picks up with little external noise and the received call is played through the speakers. Cost? £4 for the lead from Maplins.

Jim if you could have a check would be much appreciated
![]() I know where you are coming from to be honest I have always been put off the idea of hands free kits but recently I have found myself in situations where I needed to be ringing someone while on route and I don't want to have to stop and ring. |

Good point Matt.
I'm thinking of doing a CB install at same time so when it is all apart I will do it all in one go so its all together and installed sensibly. |
