United Kingdom 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Tonga Green
I have an iPad. A lovely piece of kit but I don't know whether it'll meet your needs for navigation.

There are some nice apps out there but nothing really that nails routing and navigation. Apps like Tomtom (not yet for iPad) are great for navigation but they only have vector graphic roads (no detail).
Apps like google maps are pretty cool but they don't give you OS data.
There are OS maps out there but they are very pricey (I paid c £150 for the country to 1:50k) and they tend to fragment the country so you're forever between maps.
Also, the GPS is OK but, apart from the iPhone mount from Tomtom, there isn't an external GPS extender.

Summary: great piece of kit - buy one for personal use in the house or at work - but probably won't solve your in-car navigation needs yet. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

You can get Memory Map for iPhone - and with that you can get all the OS maps - I assume you can run the same app on the ipad......

I don't have any experience with either - working for Motorola they don't like us to use an iPhone with a work SIM - so I have a Motorola Milestone running Android...

Google Maps and Google Navigation works well on the road - but you need to have OK coverage as it downloads all the maps, nothing stored on the phone - and they are both free!
