V8 Steve, sounds like you packed a lot into a short time,...and that you found some great locations,...any pics?
"Wild camp spots"?...Does that mean you do your own cooking etc, for the whole time. In view of the short notice, & not knowing where you were going etc, how & what did you cook/ eat?

Just in case Steve doesn't spot this ...

In the UK the term 'wild camping' is a general term for when you make you camp somewhere that isn't a commercial camping or caravan site. It is usually free. The wild bit just means not an official site, rather than 'wild' as in Bear Grylls/Ray Mears hunting/gathering sort of thing.

(The laws are also different in England/Wales to Scotland. Wild Camping without prior permission of the land owner is not legal in England/Wales (but plenty of people get away with it!), but in Scotland the law allows for camping without permission in certain circumstances)

When we were travelling around Oz, we stocked up with food for 4 or 5 nights when we hit a town, and chose stuff that we could cook on a 2-burner gas stove, or eat raw. Hardly even knew where we were going to stay from one night to the next! Did some 'free camping' at rest areas and along the track side in the Simpson, but mostly in commercial camping or caravan parks. Our blog - http://landytravels.com/

I bought it and drove it home!!! Cool

(Well technically, I did that last saturday, not today, but I thought I'd post it anyway.)

She's not a 'looker' with a bit of rust and some dents and scratches all around (and those awefull white and rusty wheels!) but I hope I can get her cleaned up over the next few months. But she will never be a show model (and that's perfectly fine with me), so don't expect too much ok?

Thanks Dan!

They are Wolfs, aren't they? I mean, as all 130's had them stock, right? How can I tell for sure by looking at them? I mean: the car is 15 years old, I am not certain they weren't replaced at any time. Are there any distinctive markers to identfy genuine Wolfs?

Replaced the drivers side lower door hinge as all of a sudden the pin in the hinge snapped off. Thought it was going to be a complete nightmare but only took 5 mins! Pleasantly surprised for a change!!

Just got to get the series military doors and the truck cab soft top, and the arches, and rebuild the axles, get hinged rear tub cover on etc etc...

Cheers. Alex

Changed my NS shock absorber and new bushes to boot for new Performance Polybushes and new genuine shocks.
Old ones were a sod to get out especially the lower nut, which took me hours. Rolling Eyes

The arch lining cover was a pain too, but got it out.
OS to go tomorrow hopefully.

Today I fitted new rear anti roll bar ball joints and bushes, new steering damper bushes, and a new UJ on my front prop.

Got my MOT in a few weeks time, so getting prepared. Smile

How did you find the anti roll bar bushes and steering damper bushes to change?

Thumbs Up
