Third time lucky!
My first Land Rover was an ebay purchase, it was a 1995 300Tdi 110 SW, I loved it, however replaced it in 2008 with a one year old Puma 110 XS SW. Great vehicle, especially after the BAS remap, but two years ago I sold it when I started work in Australia. I was home in February and decided I couldn't be without a Defender, so bought myself a 2004 Td5 110 SW. Here are a couple of photographs.

Since buying I have done a few things, including:

Stainless steel door hinges
Replaced door seals
Rock sliders
Mudflaps
Momo Nero steering wheel
Rear work light
Dog guard
Window guards
Rubber chequer plate lined load space
Reversing camera
Crystal headlamps

Good evening, can you inform us the supplier of these SS door hinges? And are they a perfectly fitting replacement, i.e. do they have an identical footprint as the originals? Or are they a bit smaller, and expose a bit of the door which you would not see with the original hinges? Were you able to easily paint them in the colour of the truck, and does the paint stay on well?

Tks for a word, Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Hi Eric

here's a picture of the hinges fitted.

I bought them from Smilinghound. Smilinghound have mixed reviews on this forum, all I can say is that there was a problem with delivery, however it was not Smilinghound's problem, but the guy could not have been more helpful in resolving the issue.

As you can see I did not paint them, so cannot comment on painting. My preference is to leave as is because they fit in well with the silver paint.

Regarding fit, there are no unpainted gaps so they must be identical size to the originals.

Great bits of kit.

cheers

mike
