Australia 2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Zermatt Silver
Rear door wheel carrier
One of the higher priorities on my accessories list is a wheel carrier for the back of the 110. I already have a Bearmach on my 98 Tdi 110 which has been good over some rough tracks, so I know what they are like.

What I want to know though is how well the (post 02MY) Bearmach carrier fits the 2008 Defender. I've been told they need some modifications to make them fit.

If so can anyone tell me what has to be done??

I don't think I can get a Mantec in Australia without importing it and I'm left with either a Scorpion Racing or Bearmach. 110 2.4TDCi

I bought a Scorpion one for my 08 Defender, but had a list of problems:

No M12 nuts.
Rear door clevis 3mm too wide.
M12 bolts were too short for locknuts.
Reinforcing plate for tub was 4mm too long an minus one hole.
All pivots very slack with M12 bolts. 1/2" bolts were much better.
Wheel studs slightly out of position.
235/85R16 tyre fouled frame by 30mm.

Got it to fit eventually, but it was a bit of a pain. I only bought the Scorpion carrier because it had a Hi-Lift bracket built in.

Thanks, I've gone and ordered a Bearmach as it would seem there isn't much to do to fit it. Also I know what they are like as my 98 Defender has one on the back and it's stood up well to a fair amount of abuse. 110 2.4TDCi
