Well, it seems that there are e-mails from yourself on record that go back about 2 years, even if unreplied to,and you say that several parties have been blaming each other, which presume something at least must be in writing about this too.....
I don't know about you gents in the UK, but here most people would have a subscrition for legal protection from for instance our TCS (equivalent to your AA), which is not expensive at all. This seems a good example for checking with them the possibility of starting a legal case, and often when the dealer/Land Rover see that you you are serious about it, they will quickly sing another song, certainly if you have records to proof your case....
I still recently engaged my legal protection against a company which sneakily added small amounts of money to one of our mobile phone bills, supposedly my wife unknowingly had pushed a button for a subscription to an e-mail notification service... One letter to them from our legal protection, and they immedicately refunded the total amount charged, going back 6 months.... Those companies don't like legal proceedings, and don't think Land Rover or a dealer like the same. Bad publicity.

Unfortunately, legal proceedings are a matter of course for a company the size of JLR, especially operating in the US market. It might surprise you to know that in the last financial year 12/13 JLR declared an opening balance on product liability of £16.2m, received claims for a further £5.8m and paid £6.2m in claims or settlements. These are sums it expects to pay out, i.e. lose. In 2012 it paid out £20.1m & 2011 £18.3m!

In addition, "The group is involved in legal proceedings, both as plaintiff and as defendant and there are claims of £15.9 million (2012: £9.9 million, 2011: £10.8 million) against the company which management have not recognised as they are not considered probable. The majority of these claims pertain to motor accident claims and consumer complaints. Some of the cases also relate to replacement of parts of vehicles and/or compensation for deficiency in the services by the group or its dealers."

I'm not wanting to put the OP off a valid claim, however, it's worth knowing what you are up against - it's a big machine.

When I took my dealer to court over a replacement engine, he said that whatever the outcome it would be no skin off his nose as Land Rover would cover any payout he had to make. He seemed comfortable in the court environment as though he spent a lot of time there.

Doesn't matter, just try to say that most companies don't like customers to sue them which only creates bad pubilcit^y.... And most importantly in our case, we can do that free of any extra charge, as we have this annual subscription for it....
I still think that if OP has some e-mails and further in writing, the dealership is already in bad situation if they cannot show proof of answer, etc.... Worth checking I think.

Update... JLR have denied i made the initial claim two years ago and even though i have contact names they have closed the case. A 4 year old car should not have weeping holes in the bodywork. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Unfortunately this sounds all too common, I have been to similar places with a LR dealer in Glasgow, they Censored up my D3 engine and charged me £3k for the privilige whilst lying to my face about what they had done. When I tried court action they were going to sue me for deformation of character, I couldn't afford to take the risk, LRCS were of no use what so ever either. 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6
