Front Truetrax lsd diff tyre wear?
Any one had any tyre wear problems with front truetrax lsd diff fitted, my inner shoulders on fronts how worn a bit, my tracking was set to 16" toe out as land rover manual settings ie parallel to 16" toe out , I have re set to dead parallel and seeing what happens after swopping wheels from front to back.

This is on my hybird , now on a 90 chassis & axles from 1993 with a truetrax in rear as well

Was running extreme rose joint rear trailing arms and gkn overdrive but with that set up when it dropped down from overdrive the whole veicle would try and twist

Any one had similar problems? 2014 2.2 90 hard top , Warm M8000 , Scorpain winch bumper, Ashcroft rear atb

Netherlands 2003 Defender 90 Td5 PU Caledonian Blue
I have a true trac in the front axle and a Detroit locker in the rear axle. I had them first in my 1997 Camel Discovery and now in my 90 td5.
I do not see any strange wear on my tyres on both cars. My Discovery was used off-road but also my daily driver and as I am working in the oilfield it was making trips all over europe. So a lot off highway driving.

I don't think you can blame tyrewear to the true trac diffs.

The true trac and also the detroit locker want to go straight ahead when under power.
With my 90 on and off throttle can easily make 30 deg difference in steeringwheel turn. Roel

Cheers for that , I will keep an eye on it see what happens , its had both truetraxs fitted for a few years but not done a big mileage, all the suspension bushesw are fresh and track rod ends all ok. 2014 2.2 90 hard top , Warm M8000 , Scorpain winch bumper, Ashcroft rear atb

Hi,

was using Truetrac front & rear for about 12years and 15.ooo kmīs per year with the RRC.
I can say there was definately no abnormal tyre wear.
They silently do/did their work, I never took any notice of them - other than in winter of offroad.
No problems even though they had to cope with bigger 255/86-16s most of the time.

Just checked steering and axle front to back , running 2" llift, all seems fine, plus after setting tracking to parallel it is steering much better, not running caster correction arms on front , all bushes are fine, drop arm ball joint was u/s and replaced a month ago, tyre pressures all ok, re built crome ball bushes / bearings re built last summer too

Note had a "lock rite" diff lock (Similar to a Detroit locker but cheaper and really needed to be set with lighter control springs) in my series 3 years ago in the rear and that shoulder off my new XCL's on outer edge , if you set off quickly from a road end you could both hear and feel it pushing and biting 2014 2.2 90 hard top , Warm M8000 , Scorpain winch bumper, Ashcroft rear atb

Doubtful the Truetrac would be causing it - was wondering if the negative castor from the lift coupled with the tracking could cause dithering around the straight ahead and shoulder wear. JB
