Sounds like water ingress perhaps? Have you been wading? Without a detailed internal diagram it can be difficult to determine. Have you the ability of disconnecting it and checking the connecting cables with an insulation tester to double check it's not the wiring?
If it's already been replaced and all is fine as your post implies unless you send it off to be properly investigated chances are you'll never know or find out. Oil ingress is a TD5 issue? Not in this case, we inspected all the connectors , nothing wrong there.

Apology, I read oil ingress. Water might be slight possibility as I washed it with a pressure washer but I have done this may times previously. Well, new one is in and the fuse is not blowing. These units and the plugs are waterproof?

my ECM failed in the early months (mine also 2010) and I understand there may have been a bad batch - I suggest a call to LR may be worth your while.

Not that waterproof as the wading depth is limited on a Puma and the reasoning I believe behind the extra bulge on the bonnet. Pressure washing is never a good idea around 'sensitive' areas and it sounds like you may have possibly discovered that already?

Hi
I got this problem a couple of year ago , it was a bad insulation of the + 24 V wire feeding the ECU and it was touching the air conditioning pipe in the engine compartment . In fact when the pipe was hot , it has burned the insulation of the wire and the fuse under the seat burned. He took time to found. May be this can help you. |

Mal I stand to be corrected but believe the bulge ie for the ac compressor not the ecm which I think is under the non bulge bit....either way don't think getting water there is going to do it any good. |
