So why would LR put 2 x front fright springs on a vehicle?

They don't.
That list was compiled years ago when springs were handed ... I was using it for reference back in my TDi days

Since the TDCI came out, LR discontinued the handed springs as no longer necessary

Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

And the RH springs are slightly longer than the LH springs, so by having two of them you gain an Nth of an inch lift too.

I fitted 2x RH springs onto my 110, sites dead level.

My 90 TDcI MY2013 has different springs for passenger and driver side, front and rear.
