Hi
Im new to the site and have just been reading some bilaws..I think I might not be allowed to link to actual brands like I have. Im sure an administrator will tell me but if I have made a mistake, please bear with me while I find my feet. This has just been launched by Apple and is just what I am looking for to add to my Landi 110. http://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/ The advert on apple says that after market retro fit using Alpine or Pioneer is also available. I found this on Pioneer.. http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/landing/products/carplay.html which gives a list of new systems available for retro fit. and this http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/newsroom/news/carplay/page.html I wonder if anyone else has fitted such a large inbuilt display to a Defender as I think its going to take a lot of jiggery pokery? http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/25/109/.../page.html http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/25/111/.../page.html Any feedback or thoughts greatly appreciated Many thanks, Day One at Defender2.net |

Hi Ashley,
Welcome to the forum. I've been waiting for aftermarket manufactures to start showing their carplay products. I don't think I'l be putting it on my defender but maybe in another car. I'm trying to find a way to get rid of my head unit all together and just have a DAB receiver and an amp. www.td5.org |

Have a look through this thread:
http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic26531.html Those Pioneer units both claim to be double DIN on a quick glance, so if they are you'll be fine. |

Thanks for the link - very impressive.
Thanks for the welcome too.. Ive got the car in service at the moment and Ill get the guys to check out the Pioneer as it seems the simplest route to get that Apple service that I am so comfortable with. Yes they are both double din. Have a great day |

Chris at CSK is fitting this model for me in expectation of the CarPlay
http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/25/111/.../page.html Double din with bells and whistles. I spoke with Pioneer this week and the Apple CARPLAY has been delayed as an firmware update till 'summer' rather than 'early summer' because Apple have yet to sign it off due to OS 8 coming out imminently. http://www.appradioworld.com/2014/06/carpl...er-is.html |
