To cut a long story short, I won an item on eBay, a 2011 Discovery 4 commercial that was listed by BLR.
I emailed them through eBay before the end of the auction and asked if the price included VAT? they said it did. When the final price was reached (£27.000) they then said the price was PLUS VAT - obviously making a big difference.
I've called them several times and keep getting fobbed off, nobody has rang me back to talk about it, if they were reasonable I'd probably meet them half way on price, but as they won't pick up or return calls it's just getting silly.
It's no way to run a business, if they faced up to what's happened I'd understand. I know there has been previous bad reports about BLR on here before, but I'm very frustrated that they've welched on a deal and now won't even admit a mistake and talk over the phone, pathetic!

They're probably helping the Homeland Security folks in America with how to identify a 25 year old Td5

Well, the plot thickens with this company - they are still refusing to return calls, I've had an email from them saying that the customer has taken the car for a few days and that they are hoping for it to return soon, if it doesn't then they will have to cancel the transaction. What a load of tosh.
I wouldn't mind if they just put their hands up and call me, saying that they can't sell it at that price and they've made a mistake - but to lie is appalling service. I hate liars.

I've contacted eBay but it's long winded. I just want to let people know what type of lying, useless toe rags this so called company is. Rant over.

Just a thought but if anyone on here lives near or drive past BLR - then please have a look as you drive by, let me know if there's a black Discovery 4 on the forecourt.

Is it by any chance RF11 AKN, currently listed on their website at £26,495 + VAT?

RF11 AKN

If so there's nothing there to suggest that it isn't for sale. Makes me wonder if they didn't like the the winning bid and are trying to default on the transaction.

It's no way to run a business, I'd avoid them if I were you.

It may of course be that they are too busy helping Homeland Security with their enquiries to take your calls at the moment, theay are after all recognised as specialists in exporting modernised classic Landrovers to the USA.

Yep, that's the one, it reached the reserve after I'd asked them twice about the final price including VAT, now the car seems to have gone AWOL!
Idiots.

Might do if I don't get any response, but it's nearly 3 hours away from me unfortunately.

As a matter of interest, and somewhat off-topic here (but related to the Homeland Security seizures thread), can anyone spot any 1985 credentials with this one (link)? How exactly does this qualify as 1985 (note that it is advertised as 1985 despite the write-up saying that it started as a 1986!!!)?

Sorry to hear about your troubles, personally I would contact the local trading standards office in Slough, get them to open a case up, especially if you have everything documented.

You should get a quicker response, as their advert does not include or elude to VAT on sale price, they should jump on them quickly, hopefully Jumped ship to reliability - Mitsubishi L200

Thanks Muddybigdog, but I've had a quick look on the CA website and it looks like I'd have to reside in the Slough Borough area to use them, and as no money or deal has happened I don't think they would be able to help either. eBay seem a bit toothless with their response too, so I think I'm on a hiding to nothing unfortunately.
