A suggestion: Put your left foot on the clutch pedal only if you want to change gears. I think your dealer is right in telling that you keep your foot on the clutch pedal.

Im hurt - never in all my years do i drive with my foot on the clutch, other than to change gear I think they either put an original spec in when they changed it - or didnt change it properly. Although - apparently 3rd clutches are unusual which is why they modified it. unfortunately i do...just not in the defender. I dont use it for work - the other Land Rovers do that so this one just does the holiday trips - still in 27months ish of ownership its been at the dealers for nearly 7 months with 3 central problems: Clutch Roof Leak The inability of stratstone meant it would go in for 3 weeks - say for the leak, come out not fixed with damage - say scratches, broken parts etc. When they replaced the clutch they broke the selector - it took them a week to do the clutch (after 4 visits) one where they told me they had done it - ignoring the noise, they hadnt removed it the waxoyl was over the bolts! then 1 week to repair the selector (needing parts) on that trip they tore the carpet, didnt refit all the bolts (loose floor ) damaged the cubby box and didnt refit the low range selector Guy Salmon are as good as gold and with about 5ish months left of its warranty the original faults are starting to be fixed. Maybe soon ill be able to use it. Let it be a lesson to you - LR make some good cars - the dealers are masters at not keeping them that way Mike |
