England 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
one for the modellers
looking for some advice on making a model.

as part of a project for my daughter we're making an ancient tomb out of papier-mâché which we've almost completed the basic shape however as you can hopefully imagine it doesn't have a smooth finish which we'd ideally like to have.

any suggestions on the easiest was of achieving this bearing in mind once complete we'd like to cut the top off such that once painted it has a removable top.?

was thinking about using polyfilla ?

cheers

My son and I did something similar - formed the basic shape in chicken wire, stapled this to plywood sheet, covered in paper mâché, allowed to dry then smoothed over with polyflla. We mixed cementone into the polyfilla so that the colour was in the polyfilla right through - looks better when the top or sides are cut off

You can use a hacksaw blade to cut the top off - just wrap some insulation tape round the blade to make a handle
