Who did unplug the Clutch sensor?
Who did unplug the Clutch sensor on the td5 and what did you do with the connector?
Did you just take it of and left it or did you make a connecting between the contactpoints?

I have my Clutch sensor unplugged and can't say for sure that it helps me getting more power at a start off a hill climb. I understood that the ECU keeps the power back till the clutch is fully released.

I noticed that my Cruise Control stopt working as the sensor breaks the connection when pushing the clutch pedal down, now I connected the contacts off the plug so the ECU thinks I never use the Clutch anymore. Mr. Green

The Cruise Control works again and even stops working if I press the Clutch pedal. Ok the revs go up for a short moment and then the ECU stops the CC.

I didn't test it offroad yet but will I now have full power as soon as I use the right pedal even that the clutch is not completely released? Roel

Applicable to Auto conversion?
Hmm, I would be interested in the result of this... Smile

I converted my Td5 to auto. I just unplugged the clutch switch and taped it up when I removed all that gubbins. Should I have bridged the contacts? (I did ask Ashcrofts, and they just said to tie it up out of the way).

I would be grateful if you could let me know which it should be.

Well, just had a look at the pedal box that I took off when I did the conversion. The clutch switch "makes" when no pressure in the clutch system. This implies open circuit when clutch depressed. SO...if the ecu gives more power when clutch not depressed, I should short the connector.......I'll have to try and see Very Happy Defender 110 DC converted Auto

A small fuse (from a disco3) can be adjusted to fit. Mr. Green Roel

i took it off mine, it disables the anti shunt program. in other words it allows you to control engine revs on a gear change rather than making them hang which was meant to make it smoother on the transmission for those that struggle with the concept themselves (ie rushing it)

it made mine more preferable to drive for my style of driving. Cheers
