I just receive a new cap for the fuel tank (original Land Rover)
The other was lost in a gas station some time ago and replaced for cheap one that broken some days ago . The new one include a strip to attach to the body. Now the questions: 1.- Size of the hole to crimp the strip end to the body? 2.- Where to do the hole, any correct position or where you like? Cheers! I went for the bottom left hand corner for my fixing.
Think I used a 4mm drill but can't be sure. Love the way you can take the key out locked or unlocked. |

Same here, I bought a cheap Britpart one and sure enough, takes about 2 or 3 minutes of fiddling and swearing before it opens, why oh why do I buy cheap parts?!!
Eduardo, my brother-in-law lives in Santiago, he's currently building a house on a plot of land in the hills or mountains overlooking Santiago, looks like a great place to live! |

The genuine part from a main dealer's less than 25 quid.

Same experiences for all of us with cheap caps In my defence, I bougth the cheap one (1/3 of the price of the original one) as an emergency. The dealer here tend to charge the price by 3-4 times more and were not available at this time in the other spare part store that I use. So I bougth the cheap one and ask if they can import for me the original. I forgot to pick up it until now when the cheap one broken. Lambley: Yes, Santiago is a nice place to live but we have some problems with contamination during winter (sorrunded by mountains and the bad air cannot escape) and traffic jams (with more than 7 millions people, 30 km of diameter and a bad public transport system, can be a pain move from one side to other).
