Frontrunner expander chair
I like the look of these given how small they fold up and they seem to get good reviews elsewhere on the web. Dead handy for camping and indeed for the numerous kids summer sporting events.

Anyone got one and care to post their views before I take the plunge?

Also, can any sponsor on here get hold of them and do me a deal for two ? Thumbs Up

Hi,
I've sat on one of those, they are nice not THAT comfy though, if it's just for a summer, you might find something cheaper and maybe more "loungy". But if your are going for durable, i think it's a good choice. And as you said, when folder it's quite small

Thanks Tim... You've pretty much summed up my view of them.

Haha Mal.... You're right, they're not exactly bargain basement but I've been outdoors with the go outdoors variety and seem to then 'go to the tip' with the mangled wreckage on far too many an occasion in the past... Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

If you really want small as in very small have a look at Helinox.

Surprisingly comfortable. I always have two of them stowed under a rear seats.
They now have the 'ground chair' which is even lighter and packs smaller again.

I have these chairs, perfect for when space is at a premium. I have no problems with comfort, maybe not so if you are quite heavy. I have noticed a little stitching needs looking at, but nothing terminal and the rest is still solid after 4 years.

I do like them but not sure they are worth the £70 they seem to be selling for.

Thanks again guys... More food for thought. Allen, I like the look of the Helinox too. Both are pricey but I can live with that for size/convenience/durability etc. Hmmmm... decisions... Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

Feel free to grab one of my chairs at the Summer weekend.
They might seem a bit small, but even from taller friends, I hear they find them far more comfortable then they'd expected.
They hold about 100+ kg, so I guess most of us won't have a problem with these.
I've thought long about adding normal chairs, but I simply find them taking up too much space in my cramped cabin and if going for a long walk I can simply throw them in a rucksack. They are that small.

Jon

JST has a pair of these,, i am sure he will let you "test run" one at the summer weekend next month,,

He has had a few years now, and seam to be holding up well, a bit of paint flake, but still functional !

Will agree with Zouritte,, pack up small, but not over comfy for me Rolling Eyes California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Allen / Tim (and James if he reads this) - thanks guys... a brief test run of both next month would be greatly appreciated...

The 'Daniel overbalance, topple forwards and face plant into ground close to campfire' test is one I'll be hoping not to replicate Shocked Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

I'd love to see the replay, albeit at a safer distance from
the campfire. Think you can arrange that? Wink

I have the frontrunner chairs. Kids love them, easy to open and comfy. The only mistake a made was I did not buy the bags. Compared to the chair the bags are cheap. Also do a search for prices as there a different prices. The only down side is when you have 4 they are heavy to carry.

Thanks to all that posted on this. Rather embarrassingly I forgot all about this thread and should just close my side of things out by saying that being the impatient git that I am I couldn't wait until the 'summer weekend' back in July to try out others so I hedged my bets and bought one Frontrunner and one Helinox.

I love the Frontrunner other than for the fart like noises the stretching fabric makes when you sit in it or shift your weight around. Clearly this caused some degree of amusement around the campfire. Maybe a bit of silicone lube spray required. Must remember before next use. Or just go on a diet maybe Shocked

The Helinox is a design marvel and packs up fantastically small. It's perhaps just a bit too low to the ground for me and I ran the risk of getting my arse wedged in it. My son loves it though and wasn't so keen on the Frontrunner.

All in all, a good all round result. Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.
