.... one other thought James... any chance of a demo or even having a crack at trying to winch with a ladder jack ?? (only if that doesn't b*gger up your plans etc) Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

No no no! Make it next year so I can save up for some fuel and a train ticket first.
Thanks James. For what I had in mind is I want to able to go on longer road trips with some sections off the asphalt. If I don't trust certain sections I'd look for a way around it, but want to manage my way out with a hand winch or some sand ladders like Maxtrax and a spade. It's nice to have an electric winch on the front, but how many times would I need it when the car is being used 90+ percent of the time for work. Believe me, in my profession we don't need a winch but a laptop. 
The electric winch will probably be unnecesairy weight in front of the axle for 99,9% of the time. Anyways, that's how I see it now. So anyone can try to convince me otherwise during the weekend, as I do have a soft spot for gadgets...  |
