I had one once and the nurses name was Juan. He was a bit too attentive, well it takes Juan to know one!

Why are you trying to frighten me? Laughing Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Well what can I say, after several CT scans my doctor, after being bullied by my wife sent me of for a colonoscopy to reassure me nothing sinister was wrong.
Colonoscopy revealed large intestine bowel cancer, anteria resection and six months of chemo and two years on, touch wood am a okay.

You will no doubt be worrying about the procedure, but rest assured there is nothing to worry about.

I have now had 7 procedures, some awake and some asleep, although the awake procedure doesn't really feel like you are awake, you just seem to remember some parts of it.

I have never had any pain or discomfort whilst having the procedure, just a little soreness the following day due to them trying to weave around what is left of my large and small intestines.

My only reservations are due to the fact that the doc and her nurses are always really attractive so I do feel some what embarrassed by baring my arse and having a camera shoved up it, but I suppose they are more than used to it.

For what ever reason you need this procedure, have it done there is nothing to worry about, if if hadn't I wouldn't be posting this.

Thanks - reminds me the reason they do these things is more important than the worry... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

I've had a colonoscopy, both with, & without, being knocked out.
I prefer being knocked out, but if you're not, it's no real worries at all. Obviously it's a bit "unpleasant" & not the best of "feelings"!!....but it's not a worry,.....I'd much rather that, than going to the Dentist!
Believe me, whichever way you go, you'll be fine.

Thanks. You guys have no idea how much more reassured I am. I'm sure even K9F was trying to help Laughing
I'm even looking forward to the "special drinks" I have to take beforehand - I could use a good clear out...

You'll be fine .. I too had to have this done a few years ago. Wasn't too sure why they felt the need to offer for me to watch it live on the TV monitor. I did and got to have a good look around inside.

I also had to have the other end done. That's another story altogether. A friend also had to have one and I advised that he'd be fine and only to have a local anesthetic so he can get back normal quicker. He hasn't forgiven me yet 5 years on. 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

Hiya,

The wife had one about four years ago without going under, they only got part way thru the inspection so to speak as she could`ent stand the pain, or the feeling of the camera.

Anyway it turned out to be a slow transit colon, every other day she has to drink a laxative solution.
So far so good.

My self I`ve got to have my prostrate checked so I can sympathise,

All the best. Excuse the spelling I`am better with spanners and wires.

Well, it's all over Milestone

They did it whilst I was awake and apart from still feeling like I've got the worst curry-gas ever, it wasn't too bad. Doc was very friendly too and insisted on discussing my inner passages as the journey proceeded Laughing Much worse was the stuff I had to drink last night and at 4 o'clock this morning - at school we used to joke about the "bum-squirts" - I've relived that memory repeatedly over the past 18 hours Whistle

Anyway, the problem has been dealt with and I'm good to go. I feel like a bit of a wimp now but these things tend to grow in one's mind.

A huge thanks to all of you for your help and support Bow down Thumbs Up Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
