David, we took that little ferry last year. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The drive to the ferry on the mainland side, and away from it on the Skye side is beautiful. Thoroughly recommended, and maybe not many people know this, but it is a community operated ferry so it's nice to truly support the local community in such a rural area. I checked their site and it is running this year. Jon. |

There's a music festival in Glenelg, called "Drams in the Field" - I think it's late-summer. Maybe worth seeing or avoiding dependant on your musical tastes Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Hi,
if you haven't already been up to the west and want an interesting trip out, pop and see my old boss at 'Quad bike tours' Kinloch Laggan- about 40 mins from Fort William they do guided 4x4 tours on the Ardverikie estate (of Monarch of the Glen fame). I used to run a lot of trips up there and you would not be disappointed if you had a few hours out with them. Stunning scenery, a couple of small river crossings, miles and miles of forestry track and some more difficult areas and loads of deer! You might get a drive along one of the beaches there too! Both are beautiful white sand and freshwater! Chris |
