It's a matter of cost over convenience. It is possible to straighten them if you are gentle and have the patience and facilities but you have to set that against the cost of buying a set of new perfect ones? Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

What caused them to bend in the first place?

You will never get them straight. Buy a new pair (they are cheap) grind them in and they will last forever!

Yeah, I may well just plump for a couple of new ones. Only $20 from the US (where I got the exhaust ones from), although Fowlers in Brizzle may have a couple in, just awaiting an email back.

Cheers Mark....

Back order for Fowlups... will be 10~15 days delivery. I can have them here from the US within 7 days, and £3 cheaper to boot! Rolling Eyes

Leave them in the head and give the bottoms a good whack with a hammer. Seriously.

Wouldn't that damage the valve seats? could end up chipping them if the "whack" was off center?

Anyway, I plumped for a new pair. they were shipped yesterday from Uncle Sam, so should be here in a week or so.
