I also would be interested to hear responses to this thread. Additionally have people connected a reversing camera to a Garmin GPS unit?

I Installed a cheap one bought in USA for less than 20 USD. I cut the support to install it in the hole of the cross member. Until now and after some wading the camera are working OK. To feed up the camera I connect it directly to the reverse ligth and send the video cable to the front panel through the chassis to a screen (USD 16) that is located in the dash and feed up from the lighter cables. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0049LBJ5...&psc=1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045IIZK...&psc=1 Total cost: around USD 36 + 1/2 day work Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

I fitted this into my rear crossmember:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Digitales-Auto-Funk...3382f26392 (sorry it's in German) The camera has been fitted into a very snug hole I drilled and fixed with epoxy putty (it's not going anywhere). Almost invisible. The receiver fits nicely in the corner of the windscreen (barely noticeable) and takes its power from the courtesy light (draws 40mA on standby but easy to unplug at the side). It's a bit of a trade off as I have a NAS step and towball, so it's off centre (can't really judge side-to-side distances), but it makes it much easier to judge how far back you can go Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

I'm thinking of setting a number plate lamp type of camera into the number plate plinth. Various options here http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/reversing-camera-kits/ Cheers, Guy.

Lots of similar rear view monitor/displays on eBay including some that are more consistent with the size of the standard mirror. Has anyone tried using one? I'm interested to hear if they are a viable option. I suspect you lose the dipping mirror too? Cheers, Guy.

Don't know about you, but on mine and many others the dipping mirror is . Viewing angle is all wrong.
Perhaps check yours before worrying about it... Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

I have one fitted to the under side of the number plate light mounting block. I have made a loom to add to the reverse light loom to switch it on. This way it is easier to remove and put back to std at little cost, that is if I ever sell it...... 90 & Wolf
