SOLD Stunning 03 Defender 90 Td5 Unique Metallic Blue
Hugely sad to have to sell this but a change in job and personal circumstances has meant that I now need to sell my beloved Landy, know as ‘Big Blue’
• Fully stripped, taken apart and re-sprayed about 6 months ago in Ford Imperial metallic blue. Since I took ownership it has only ever washed by hand using twin buckets with grit guards and has been sealed with poor boys’ blackhole glaze and natty’s paste wax with dual action polisher.
• Has full service history, fully stamped plus original booklet pack.
• I’m the 3rd owner.
• Full interior retrim, heated half leather XS front seats, Exmoor rear folding bench seats, OEM LR interior rubber trim.
• Has only covered 49,200 miles, this will increase a bit due to Landy being used.
• Never been driven off road, this has been a Peak District cruiser, which is a shame for such a capable vehicle.
• Taxed till September 2014.
• Tested till April 2015. Advisory of an oil leak which was rocker cover gasket and this has been replaced. Tester said that it was the nicest one he’d ever seen and he used to work for Land Rover for 14 years !!
• Rear bulkhead has been reduced and bulkhead brace kit installed.
• Chassis and outriggers free of rust.
• Rear cross member solid.
• Garret turbo doesn’t look like the standard OEM so I suspect it has been upgraded which would fit in with the next statement…
• I was informed that it has had a stage 1 remap but there is no supporting receipt/info. It does really get down the road so I suspect that it has been ‘tuned’.
• Rear box and pipe look to be stainless steel and I think the full system is stainless but has been waxoyled so it’s a little difficult to tell.
• Colour matched centre console.
• Mantec snorkel.
• Powder coated rock/treesliders (They look like RSB but not definite as they were fitted when I bought it)
• Under bonnet sound deadening has made a noticeable difference.
• Recent clutch slave cylinder replaced May.
• Rocker cover gasket replaced May.
• HPI clear.
• No recorded damage, panels are all in excellent shape.
• New front bumper.
• Engine and chassis are factory paired -not a new engine in an old body.
• 2 inch lift kit.
• Rear Terrafirma NAS step and tow bar. Electrics tested and working.
• Chassis and underside have been waxoyled every other year, still looking good from last application in 2013 at same time as re-spray.
• Genuine black gloss 16inch Ripsaw wheels and Goodyear Wrangler 235/85 r16 tyres were brand new about 1,100 miles ago. With locking wheel nuts. Matching spare with wheel -carrier for the back door. Unused.
• WiPAC crystal front headlights.
• WiPAC LED clear lens lights all round.
• KBX Headlight surrounds and front grille.
• Wiring loom and centre console switch installed for additional front fog/head/A frame lights.
• Sony multi-media head unit with ipod control and face off security. (CD, Tuner, MP3, Aux-in)
• Front 4inch component speakers in dash with tweeters mounted on A pillar.
• Rear speaker pods fitted but currently running infinity 6x9 in 18mm MDF enclosures.
• All brakes rotors and pads are in very good condition.
• Remote immobiliser and alarm with 2 fobs..Believed to be thatcham CAT2.
• Metallic black Hard top has OEM headliner, lights and loom installed. This hasn’t been hooked up as yet…on the list.
• Available with Exmoor Trim black mohair soft top. Was fitted to the landy when I bought it but proved impractical. The tub still has the clips in situ and the front hoop supports are riveted in. The roof is in excellent condition and has only seen ½ an hour of rain but then was dried and stored dry in the house. If you’re interested in purchasing it will come with all the fittings and with a cut to fit rear ½ door.
• If the new owner doesn’t want the soft top I’ll sell it separately as a complete kit.
For balance here are the things that need attention….it is a landy after all !!
• Has developed intermittent fault with starter motor, so it has been booked in to have it looked at…possibly solenoid problem. 95% of the time it starts first time, the other 5% it takes a couple of turns.
• Rear cross member is in excellent condition but has a couple of paint chips about 20p sized.
• Waiting for rear door card to be delivered.
• Wheel carrier needs fitting to rear door ..I’m drill shy!!!
Based in S42 Derbyshire. I’m regularly in Manchester/Knutsford and West Midlands –Dudley, Walsall Wolverhampton…. so can arrange viewings and or delivery.
It's been hard to price as there is nothing really to compare it to, so £11,250

The rock/tree sliders are the more expensive terrafirma not RBS as listed.
Rear door card now in-situ.
Starter motor is being replaced 12th June. Denso motor will have 12month cover.
Having had 300 views in 3 days but no enquiries at all I'm going to drop the price to £11,250 or sensible offers.
Soft top by negotiation.
