Search for VCV or Volume Control Valve, when it goes faulty it allows a pressure that is too high, this in turn triggers the one shot pressure safety valve in the end of the fuel rail.

If you have a look at this valve, is there any evidence of fuel around it?

The fix, if it is the VCV, is to replace both the VCV and the pressure safety valve. The VCV will need to be re-calibrated by a pump relearn which can only be triggered by certain diagnostic tools when it is replaced to help configure it.

Sorry but your high pressure fuel system would have self destructed long before reaching 2174 bar of pressure!!! That is roughly 31,500 psi Shocked However 21740 psi is normal. FYI Once the fuel rail pressure gets too high the pressure limiting valve would go on the fuel rail to save the hp system from total destruction.

Thanks for advise, have tried another vcv an fuel rail but again it's over pressured and
Popped the pressure relief , what pressure should the system run on tickover
as I'm gettin reading of about 490 to 520 but on another vehicle it runs about 240 bar
What sort of diagnostic is required for relearn ?
Have now swapped entire pump off another vehicle but will
I need another pressure relief valve or can they go again?
Any help is much appreciated as I am working in the bush
and there is no help at all here!!
Thanks

Wat pressure does the relief valve operate?

I'm sure I see 27-28,000psi on the UltraGuage screen fairly regularly?

The relief valve pop at about 2000 bar

The only ones, apart from Land Rover computers, that I know of are some of the offerings from black box solutions, particularly the Faultmate MSV2. The Nanocom Evolution does not currently do it, though there was talk of it being added to the functions a little while ago.
