The gauge in my D3 which Tim rfers to did seem out at times. When driving through towns it was showing a lot hotter on the town board. The 1's that show time/temp etc.

But who cares when the climate control temp setting was set to cold and blower to defcon 3. Pure bliss. Unlike the TD5 110 that had bulkhead flaps at full tilt, front windows open and rear windows open and it was still hot in there. 110 D250 SE HT
