I have a lot of Britool tools bought over 40 years ago and they have had some heavy use on crawler cranes and heavy earth moving equipment.

When I started out 40 years ago I had what I could afford. The ones that broke I replaced with better quality tools many of which were Britool. Allright some of the cheaper tools are still around but they have had none of the use that the better sockets and spanners have had.
Have a look around at car boots and used listings on fleabay and you will get an idea on which brands are worth buying.

The first half inch one I bust was a draper expert which I replaced with a halfords advanced one that I have been and got replaced under the warranty twice now. This newest version is a different design and they have changed the swivel head, made it fusible and no longer covered by the warranty hence looking to go up a size. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.
