3/4 inch socketry
I'm of the idea that some 3/4 inch drive sockets are in order for the heavy stuff on the farm, having snapped another 1/2 inch breaker bar. Any recommendations? Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Mostly it will get limited use on the tractors. I am wondering if I wew to start with a 36 inch bar and ad hoc sockets as I need them? Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Lambert Snap on gear is an over kill for the type of use that you have for tools there's plenty of good gear with life time warranties without having to sell your soul to the devil to pay for it. Try Pete Saxton of Densax he is good to deal with qnd will not rip you off
I gave my Britool 3/4 drive torque wrench away about 3 years ago I still have some 3/4 drive gear in the garage which I have no intention of using ever again. I could do with having a clear out of the big stuff I used to be a heavy plant service engineer but have been driving a desk for 27 years Anyone want any Whitworth spanners (Britool)

I have both 1/2 " and 3/4" drive swing bars and sockets sets in snap on they have seen off every other make they were dear. But the warranty is worth it.
Have you tryied Halfords some of there professional range has a good no questions warranty.

Cromwells are ok but you get what you pay for, have you looked thru ebay they some times come up at a good price.

We got a few cheap 3/4" swing bar and sockets at work a few years ago from Cromwell tools they have been ok, granted most of the big sockets ended up on the press as installers Laughing they never saw a nut or bolt Excuse the spelling I`am better with spanners and wires.

What about a draper set such as

http://www.uktoolcentre.co.uk/Shop/p~61578...t-Set.html

Plus a Clarke 3/4 pull bar such as

http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/...reaker-bar

I have seen the bolt sheer on the bar however when used with a longer tube.

+1 for Brittool... Smile

Most of my purchases recently have been Brittool, their breaker bar is superb. Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)
