no don't use silkaflex , you well never get it out again without damage , use a bedding compound
it's non setting but 100% watertight I would remove the skylight as you want the sealer under the lip round , normally I say normally easy to get out normally the outer frame is pulled down by the inner frame by screws sometimes screws are hidden under covers I changed one the other day all east really , worse bit is how to get up there on outside as roof aren't strong enough to climb on I dont think a thin bit sealer would last long just put round the edge , to much flex , sun etc bedding compound needs to go under the sealing lip of roof light you can get it in most caravan shop in a tube to use in caulking gun |

You need to use Captain Folleys creaping crack cure
its finds the leak and follows the path then seals it up |

Thanks guys, most helpful!
Terostat sounds like the stuff to use, provided I can find somewhere that sells it. |

^^Not strictly true......Depends if you use the correct Sikaflex fit for purpose........ Sikaflex 11FC. We use this a hell of a lot in the marine industry especially for future disassembly. I have only seen grey. Blackwolf if you wish 'pm' me and I may be able to lay my hands on a tube. Loctite 5922. http://tuotteet.etra.fi/en/g2317681/loctit...isassembly If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

yes I know but the main types you see for sale are adhesive and too strong for this type of thing
I found the bedding compound stuff handy for other things like outdoor electric boxes etc , gives a another layer of protection without gluing it tight and its a lot cheaper no good for this job but anyone tried this stuff eBay item number: eBay Item No. 111273797460 may be good for tow socket etc , but expensive and probley no good if you need to alter wiring later |

Doesn't get any cheaper than the Loctite if Blackwolf wants a tube, the colour's ok and he can collect as we are both in Dorset........

Sikaflex 291. Awesome. Used in the marine industry above and below the water line.
