Hi there in Chile
I think you are right, probably the problem is a faulty light switch. There is an extensive thread about it here. Also described in this thread how to use relays to solve the problem, by using an ready made cable loom or how to make your own loom and relays. You seem to have quite a few circuits affected, some of which are not linked to the steering column light switch.
Check all your fuses by pulling them out and looking/testing. I would do a battery check with a volt meter and do a charging check and see what that shows. I would also leave as much electrical systems on as possible with give the wiring loom a shake and look for sparks, blowing fuses etc. if that doesn't show up anything. Get out the volt meter and start on one circuit and work back to the battery. Be patient and good luck Regards Lee |

I think there maybe a language barrier here , maybe he calls the rear red sides brake lights and interior are dash lights , so maybe all related by switch

Hi mfaille!
Good to have another chilean native here (5 and counting ). Are you sure that your Puma is a 2.2? in 2008 were only 2.4l if I remember well. As some said here, the ligth switch failure is common (I have changed already twice). This is a Do it yYourself work that took 10 min. Check also the fuse box if something are nor working well there. By the way, please do not buy the switch from the dealer, they will charge you a fortune. Take contact with McMotors (www.mcmotors.cl) or Messie and Co. Good luck and if you need some help drop me a PM. Chhers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

I have already bought the switch; I will change it in a while and tell you how I got on. I think that’s the problem.
Eduardo, that’s great that we are more Chileans! I did get it from mcmotors It’s the best place! Very recommended. Do you have any advice to change the switch? |

Easy task,
But remember first take out the piece that is located at the lower part of the instrument cluster (just 2 hex screws). That allows you to take out the upper and lower case of the steering column (4 screws located in the lower part if I remember well) and then, you will gain access to the switch support. If you have any question we can continue in spanish by PM Cheers! Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |
