Travelling solo so very flexible, however, my wish list is to drive the Trolls Road, the Atlantic Road and then head North. My immediate big 'thrill' being an ex civil engineer is to see the big bridge in Denmark and the crossing to Sweden.

Quite a few English speaking Land Rover owners in Scandinavia
I would suggest you register on the various Scandinavian Land Rover forums. That way you can make some local contacts who may be able to help you if it is needed. Brendan |

Spookytooth are adding pictures from I pad ? I find I have to have my I pad in the portrait position not landscape when adding pictures to posts. Just a thought. 2005 Td5 90 XS

I hope you have a smooth crossing
As other have said, lots of defender love out there so if anything goes wrong, sure it'll be OK! The whooshing sounds like a turbo hose. I believe there are other on here that have only had turbo hose problems show themselves when the pipes have warmed up and are under strain. |

I did this journey last year and got as far as North Cape... A brilliant trip and my only word of advice is prepare for the miles to take a lot longer than you'd expect and plan your petrol stops, if you get deep into Norway. I did the round trip from UK to Nordkapp in two weeks but it felt like a trek rather than a relaxing trip and I was knackered on my return to the UK. |

Thanks for the photo suggestions will do. Thanks for the offers of help, hope it won't come to that. Whooshing noise now nearly constant and I can see that the turbo hose is working itself loose, also using huge amounts of fuel so will fix that tonight
On a more positive note saw the two bridges I wanted to today so spirits still high Nordkapp in two weeks must have been some going. Right, now to fix that hose |

The Norwegian forum at lrforum.com/lrforum is a great source of information.
Lots of main dealers with norwegian main dealer prices and some independants as well if you need help on this side of the mountains. Glen "Rafiki" 2007 110 STW - Rolling rebuild. |

Hi spookytooth. I have a place in kristiandsund and according to the local work shops land rovers are very common. The only problem I had was when it came to ordering a wiper motor and due to it being on the other side it had to be ordered from the uk and was expensive. If you have any issues up near me I could try and help in some way, I know of a places to stay cheap also can direct you to local garages as well. If you like I could pm you my details.

Hi F90, a pm would be really appreciated. I am in Lillehammer at the moment having fixed my Turbo hose last night, however, I notice it is already working loose, my plans are for 2 golden days, first from here to Geirangerfiordd and then on to Kristiansund and staying just over the ferry at Varstog. If I am being honest the Defender is a pig at the moment (1year old and only 13k miles so what it will be like in 10 years time I dread to think) and a pm would give me a great deal of confidence as I pass through (hopefully!)
Finishing on a positive note again, what a pleasant trip it was up to Lillehammer, even Oslo was easy on ring 3. Lillehammer is basking in glorious sunshine and everyone seems to be in or on the lake. Fixed my phone having had no contact for 2 days and now feel I am on a road trip at last Thanks Derek |
