ECU Oil

Found a coating of oil on the wires surrounding the ECU.... What is causing this ? And the car is running great engine wise what would the best course of action be?

Does this affect most Td5s? Love the old girl to bits and I am die hard land rover and always own them. But sometimes!! Wonder if a hilux would do this sort of stuff

2001 Td5 CSW (weekend and snow mobile) Plenty of lights, M/T tyres EGR delete, roofrack, swing away wheel carrier, snorkel.

yes its a know issue, the oil travels along the injector harness into the engine harness and down to the ECU.

Change the injector harness and clean the contact every now and again with electroclean or similar.

Then you will avoid problems in the future ? "Rafiki" 2007 110 STW - Rolling rebuild.

Use the search facility and punch in "oil loom" all you need to know in the 112 threads it throws up. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
