Honda EU20i all the way for general use and using computers etc.The power is stable and surge free however be aware that certain variable speed power tools don't like the PWM pulse width modulation method of creating the sinewave and either sit and buzz or don't have quite the power they should.
The EU20i is a masterpiece of engineering/packaging, but ultimately is a throwaway machine, running a internal rubber cambelt and plastic camshaft, although they do have cast iron bores. I have heard of a few doing a couple of thousand hours. The smallerEU10i is similar but runs faster at max rpm and I believe does not last as well. The EU2600i and above use traditional OHV not OHC Honda engines and should be more durable still. Ultimately Regular oil changes and moderate loads should make them last well. I think Honda and Yamaha make the best small generators on the market, used properly they last well, but don't expect them to churn out maximum power for days on end and last. Jonno |

Try John Miller, Chippenham. They are Honda dealers for machinery and shouldn't be too far from you.

Welcome, not sure if they have stock but a phone call should do the trick. Not cheap though mind.

If you know anybody with a Costco card they always have the EU20 for a reasonable price, I noticed last time I was in the Costco new stock are now made in Thailand, previously they were made in Japan, probably makes no difference to the quality though.
