my engien block is red rusty im thinking thats ford trying to save money how much is a coat of paint hey ?
or galv retaing rings ? why cudnt they ever galv the chassis before they start ? what would it cost and extra £200 on the price it cetainly wouldnt have stopped me buying one ? bloody tractors dont go as rusty as landrovers steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

Its bad - im with you...but im not so sure they build them, as the 200tdi poster:
"Lightweight, highly adaptable aluminium body is corrosion resistant and built for longevity" I dont think at 2yrs old its too much to ask they are almost perfect corrosion wise Mike |

Don't worry mates
a lot of engine builder now (the same on the new V6 and V8 JLR diesel engine, Audi and BMW) do not paint the cast iron block. ....."It is resistant to destruction and weakening by oxidisation (rust)"......... Finally, the block take a brown color but it's only a "cosmetic" problem, not functional or durable problem.....
