Hi Mike
I have a question If i order a Gray 110XS , it come's with a body coloured roof as standard,, so far so good BUT If i order a Grey 110XS, with black roof,,,, I have to pay £480, for someone to read the order as it comes along the line,,pick out and fit a black roof, instead of a grey one The line do not repaint the grey roof, black to fulfill the order, just fit a different one Is the extra charge, just so someone can read the order/spec ?? Hello,
The added charge is for you choosing a non standard specification roof to the vehicle. Many Thanks Mike |

Still just a roof to pick up and fit, which i presume would be done anyhow,,
only the line workers have to realize that as it comes along the line, they have to pick a different pre painted one !! A non standard order would be if i wanted the roof in a not standard colour, ie pea green, Never mind, order is in anyhow California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |

Have you done a factory tour? That's not how they are built - there are no racks of pre-painted roofs along side the line. The panels for a vehicle are sprayed together, so presumably a black roof has to be painted separately from those, adding overhead to the painting process. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Not the "normal" paid for factory tour Martin,,
but a recent, "what do you want to see tour" and was paid expenses for it as well and know the "extra" overhead that would be needed to fit a Black roof, over a body coloured roof California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |

This being said, If I was to want a Blue defender, could you have it done as a special order colour? or would you have to buy a white one and get the dealer to respray it blue? which seams a bit ridiculous as you can get blue currently why not next year?

Sorry I asked then but your line of questioning did suggest that you weren't aware of the build process 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Exactly! To be honest its a deal breaker for me, I know lots of people will scoff but if I'm going to pay £30k on a new car I want it to be the right colour at least. |

Hello Mike, from Aus.
MY15?......The "last" year! As you have info on MY15, can you detail the differences between it & MY14? Goodness knows how long before we will get this info in Aus? Thanks, Martin. |

Hello,
Unfortunately the decision has been made to remove blue from the Defender line up. These decisions are taken seriously and are only done so after lots of research from our customers and company ideas. I will however pass on your disappointment to the relevant people. Pickles - I will get the Australian Customer Service to contact you asap. Many Thanks Mike |

Mike,
That's a shame about blue being removed as I was hoping to have mine in that colour, guess I will have to go with the aintree green It may help to reduce confusion if the LR website were more up to date, at it is (or was) still showing blue as an option. |
