Sounds like a pop song... no, actually those are the sounds the 110 makes as you put it into gear and drive away.

Are you sure you drove a Defender? I get Bings and boing from my D3 but no Clunks. My Defender has Clunks. Roel

Maybe will be a good idea to have a "noises dictionary" to have a reference of how a bing, rattle-rattle, Clunk, Clonk, boing, put-put, clang, hiiii, rrrrr, cri-cri among others "noises" should sound. Picked up the truck yesterday, it is scheduled to come in again in a few weeks, as there is a bit of work to be done.
According to LR, there is some play in the pinion up front (?), and a clearance issue with the nearside half-shaft . They've also got to swap out the rear step, as it is rusting already and replace the isolator foam on the doors. The clutch pedal spring has also corroded (?!?!), and will be replaced. It squeaks like an angry mouse and drives me up the wall, so good that it is going. |
