Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Sorry if I offended you Birdy but not all of us are your stereotypical up to your t1ts in mud, hairy ar5ed, fat owners of dirt encrusted trucks. My mother was riddled with pancreatic cancer dying in hospital when my Discovery let me down at MOT time. With no choice due to me travelling after work 600 miles each week to Tyneham Ward Poole Hospital to witness the life-force being sucked out of her I needed another vehicle and a reliable one very quickly. I got hocked up to my eyeballs and 40 minutes after my Discovery failed the deal was done. 3 months later when my mother's estate was settled SHE paid for it. Yes my truck is a thing of beauty to me, next to my family it has HUGE sentimental value. It never sees mud and covers less than 3k a year. It is my hobby, nothing else. I have a company car that I use and abuse.. Why? Because I can and I am who I am. Personal choice not need!!!
No debate just an emotive retort to a 'stereotypical' fellow Land Rover nut unaware of the true value of mine! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

After all this debate.......... the sensible thing is to keep the first class Speakers in use, and leave the original clear Wipacs well packaged in storage.
The good thing is that IF the Swiss authorities ever might get difficult about the LEDs (you never know with those gents, even if the Speakers are properly E-marked and homologated) I always have like new Wipacs as a back up, and needs be could go back to them which with the Landreiziger loom would still be plenty of light. Is it just me or do Defenders look boss eyed with LED headlights ? Originals look far better

Gosh, quite a few opinions here.
I would say keep the Speakers in not because I like the look of them more, I'm neutral to both but because the output will be better. The rectangular fogs IMO suit in that location, anything else wouldn't suit IMO. |

The beauty of Defenders (not sure you can say that about the owners ) is that they can be adapted/modified to the owners desires/needs etc.
Now sometimes I see Defenders and think WHY has the owner done that? Some mods I like and others it is a case of shaking my head and saying why,oh why. Things like 20+" rims, low profile tyres etc just spoils the Defender capabilities in my mind. However it is the owners vehicle and it is up to them what to do. So Eric just adapt your vehicle the way best suited to your needs/uses Brendan |

All part of the variation to Defenders. If we all had the same life would be very boring.

Absolutely no offence taken… By the way, I avoid mud whenever I can (it makes it rather difficult to launch/retrieve a boat), I’m neither hairy ar5ed nor fat, and I wash my truck at least once a year. But I find any “beauty” of a Defender is in its form and functionality, and any add-on bling detracts from that rather than adds to it. Peter |

Good onya Peter! Most Defenders we know live in the mud and mine is particularly loved by me because it kisses my big fat hairy butt every day, and seems to enjoy doing it too!
Speak fer yerself Brendan! I am particularly beautiful and I own loads of Defenders! ****CENSORED**** |
