Hi
Did a search for this but couldn't find the answer ... if there is any ... In our Defenders - or at least on mine !- the window switch has to be pressed all time untill the window is up ... it only has one position. Can we make a modification to it, so that if we press the window switch for more than 1 1/2 second the window goes up alone (like my wife's Astra and almost every cars sold these days)? And if we press for a shorter period the window only goes up that little bit ... ? And if so, is it a simple thing to do ? Thanks Regards Joao '10 Land Rover Defender 110 CC '08 BMW F800GS '64 SIIA Forward Control '69 SIIA 109 ZA CKD _____________________________________________ You have the right to remain silent. Im pretty sure the electric windows work through a ECU on most cars but the defender (well TD5 at least, pretty sure Puma ones too) is just a switch connected direct to the window motors. Would think the easiest thing would be to wire a window ECU from a RRC or Disco into the circuit.

I too don't have a clue on what you're saying ! But as double cab happy said a pic or a part number and a more exhaustive explanation would be welcome !! And we can arrange to have a beer if I go there on hollidays or if you came here in the summer! Think you will have to fit all the wiring from a Range Rover Classic between the power supply, switches and window motor.
Personally i can keep my finger on the switch for a few seconds and dont want to change the wiring on my Defender but if anybody wants it doing then im sure i can do it for them. |

Humm
I remember that Ive seen some chinese systems of power windows (that are using to convert manual windows in electric ones) that have this "one touch" close and open window function. Im not sure if one of then can be installed inside the door. Found this one in internerd http://www.duettomotors.com/general/gen_power.htm Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

don't forget that auto up windows have the anti trap sensor fitted, so I don't know if the window would go down as soon as its fully closed without this on the fender

Ahh...the man we're all waiting to hear from ! Very nice kit ! When you fit it let us know your feedback ... I'll buy one too, just have too see if I'm capable of fitting it or will have to take it to someone who knows how. The Mrs. will be very happy to know that there's a solution for "her" problem!!
