EGR Valve Ekk Ekk Sound & Fuel Suppliers
I used to always use BP Ultimate as my Premium fuel, gave approx 10% more mpg, but my local Service Station changed to Shell so I started to use their Premium diesel more and more, still gave 10% or possibly more mpg.

However i have been suffering from the EGR Valve "Mouse" Ekk Ekk more and more recently, at every lift off the throttle almost, Last 6 fills have been shell premium and journey has been same old Chester to Milford Haven. So I reverted back to BP Ultimate and after just 200miles the mouse has left home and the only Ekk of the EGR Valve cleaning cycle is when i shutdown.

So is it just the change in fuel and hence detergent has cleaned the valve or is BP a more suitable fuel for my engine??

I feel a few months of controlled experiments is required.

Might be worth checking out what additives are in each fuel, usually marked on the pumps.
EGR noises whilst running are normally a sign that there are imminent issues pending. Shocked
But if it's gone now don't over worry.
I normally use Esso regular but Shell regular the other day too, no difference in either from my point of view.
Seemed all good.

I do however pretty much avoid all supermarket fuel. Only if desperate and that'd be rare. 99% non supermarket
